If your suitcase is the equivalent of a MuMu its time to upgrade

As a college student I don’t have a salary
and I certainly don’t have a luggage set but that is no excuse to check in a
garbage bag. A good suitcase is the little black dress of your travel wardrobe. When looking for the perfect little black dress one is
willing to spend hours in a department store searching through the aisles of monochromatic hell to find just one dress
that fit all the criteria. Same principle should apply when seeking out the
perfect piece of luggage.

As a world traveler I bought a
suitcase that affordable as well as light weight, compact,
durable, maneuverable and secure. With out all these features my
belongings could potentially be lost, stolen, deposed of due to weight
or just a pain in my butt. At 24" tall and 5.6 lb my super light Heys suitcase
is perfect for me. Those of you that are familiar with this company may
be asking yourself what my definition of "affordable" is. Well, after
searching for two weekend through at least ten stores I found my Heys
suitcase at T.J. Maxx for $44.99 instead of $140.00 retail.
Canvas v Polycarbonate
Most
luggage owners have a black canvas bag ranging from 28" to 32" tall.
These bags are very nice and have an impressive capacity however, they
are usually heavier and less durable from my own experience. Although
you can get yourself a canvas suitcase for a bargain, in the long run it
is better to invest in a polycarbonate bag that will last years. I know
the extra twenty bucks could be put toward survivors or Starbucks but
when your bag is overweight and you have to pay you may wish that you
thought twice.
